When Lexington Academy was invited to join the City to Sanctuary NYC Initiative for the 2026–2027 school year, school leaders chose not to wait. Already, nearly 30 students and their teachers have participated in two immersive sanctuary experiences, reflecting the growing demand for meaningful nature-based learning opportunities in New York City schools.
